Sinafik Birara Gebru is the Executive Director of Your Ethiopian Professionals (YEP), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2010 and based in the Washington D.C. area. YEP aims to be a global connection point for the professional community, fostering community empowerment and growth. In her role, Sinafik leads a lean but dedicated team, overseeing YEP’s mission to eliminate barriers that hinder community members from connecting, sharing resources, and growing both personally and professionally.

Beyond her work with YEP, Sinafik serves as an Account Executive and Assistant Vice President for Employee Benefits at Lockton Northeast’s Washington, D.C. office. In this capacity, she is the primary business contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met with excellence.

Additionally, Sinafik is the founder and co-manager of Birara Genet, a non-profit organization based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Birara Genet focuses on empowering under-represented community members through targeted and job-relevant skill training programs, helping individuals gain the skills necessary for meaningful employment and personal development.
